THE VILLE is a historic African-American neighborhood in St. Louis, Missouri, with a rich African-American education, business, entertainment, and cultural history. Between 1870 and 1980, THE VILLE rose as a cultural mecca of Black St. Louis alongside its kindred neighborhood, Mill Creek Valley.
4theVille is a community-based cultural organization working to safeguard the legacy of The Ville and catalyze preservation. Our mission is to share the history of The Ville and inspire reinvigorated ownership of the neighborhood.
You can contribute to our organization in many ways, but what better way than to share off wearing our merch?
One of the most significant ways to connect with our community is by joining our tours hosted by members of the board and our community.
Our tours offer opportunities to learn about The Ville and St. Louis Black history. We host walking and bus tours. Sign up below today!
We envision The Ville and its surrounding community becoming a cultural destination that local and national tourists seek to understand and enjoy its legacy.
To achieve this vision, 4theVille is committed to transforming the public domain of the community and developing a network of public amenities imbued with the extraordinary culture of the community that connect its neighborhoods across Dr. Martin Luther King Drive and support prosperity of The Ville.
